Liberty Lane

New Canaan, Connecticut

2015

Faced with a very limited building area and a mandate to maximize buildable square-footage, we proposed a small and modestly-winding country lane lined with twelve traditional townhouses. We felt it was critical that the community have an identity, so we designed a jewel-like stone pavilion that landmarks the community’s entry along the busy street on which it fronts. Variety in the selection of exterior materials, fenestration and roof lines ensures that each resident enjoys a distinct “home” within the larger ensemble, while other uniformities ensure a considered architectural expression achievable with construction efficiencies for the developer.

Our office collaborated with Neil Hauck Architects of Darien, Connecticut, on this project.
